Visiting rowers

Glebe Rowing Club is located close to Sydney CBD and adjacent to the Sydney Fish Markets.

We are happy to host rowers travelling from outside of Sydney who wish to experience our waters for a one-off row. Many of our members have enjoyed rowing with other clubs while travelling, so are keen to return the favour.

As we are located in a busy part of Sydney Harbour, for safety reasons, we require all visitors to be hosted by a Glebe Member.

If you are an experienced rower from a club outside of Sydney and would like a guest row with us, please make your request via the GRC Visiting Rowers Form

While our members are keen to host and meet visiting rowers, we are a community club run by volunteers. Our ability to host visitors is dependent on our club member’s availability, training schedule and space in crews. We do our best to accommodate all requests, but a response to this form is subject to member’s availability

Many of our members are away in the Christmas to New Year period – so it is less likely we can accommodate your request during this time

We look forward to hosting you at Glebe Rowing Club.

Making a donation

We don’t charge a fee to row with us, but we do accept a donation. After your row, if you want to make a donation please use the following details. These types of donations go towards the cost of the Club’s juniors program to introduce rowing to kids at schools that don’t have a rowing program.

Account Name: Glebe Rowing Club Incorporated.
BSB : 951-200.
Account Number: 012 681 381.
Please include in Payment Reference: ROW-IT-FORWARD

Scheduling your row

It is most likely we can help on weekdays between 5:30 and 8:30am. On weekends, we are more likely to be in crew boats or at Regattas. The Christmas to New year period is not a great time to try and row with us. Many people are away or training for January regattas so there are fewer hosts available.

If you are in Sydney for an extended period, feel free to get in contact with us but please note that we don’t provide temporary membership options. We regularly have international University students with us as members and provide a discounted membership for students.
